### Your Existing Applications Are Ready for AI Agents - Here's How MCP Makes It Possible

(Arin Roy, Principal Architect & Azure AI, MVP , Capgemini)

Learn how to expose existing APIs through MCP servers so AI agents can discover and invoke business capabilities, with guidance on design, security, governance, and observability.

####

Your organization has invested years building applications that power its most important business processes. As AI agents become part of modern software, the challenge is no longer building new AI applications—it's making those existing systems accessible to them.

This session explores how the Model Context Protocol (MCP) helps bridge that gap. Rather than rebuilding applications or creating bespoke AI integrations, MCP enables existing capabilities to be exposed as discoverable tools that AI agents can understand and invoke at runtime.

Starting from an existing API, we'll build an MCP server, connect it to an LLM, and demonstrate how agents can dynamically discover and execute business capabilities. Along the way, we'll explore when APIs are sufficient, when MCP adds value, and the practical considerations for adopting MCP in production, including tool design, security, governance, discoverability, and observability.

Attendees will leave with a practical understanding of how to make existing applications agent-ready, how MCP complements rather than replaces APIs, and the architectural patterns and best practices for introducing MCP into real-world systems.

### Going from vibe coding to Agentic Engineering, a step-by-step guide

(Matteo Emili, Director of Platform engineering @Zema Global)

A step-by-step guide to evolving from vibe coding to governed agentic engineering through AI collaboration, workflows, standards, and process discipline.
AI-augmented software development is evolving from “vibe coding”, where intuition and spontaneous creativity drive progress, to "agentic engineering", a more regulated and governed approach. In this new paradigm, AI agents collaborate with developers not only to unlock creativity, but also to ensure adherence to best practices and organizational guidelines. By harnessing agentic workflows, teams can capture the imaginative potential of AI while embedding robust standards, governance, and process discipline into everyday coding. This session explores how agentic engineering blends innovation with accountability to reshape the future of software development.
