This class takes place the 2nd Sunday of every month from 3-5:30pm. You need to take this class only once and can take it before or after Part 2.

In this class, we will introduce the use of tools that a budding DIY woodworker will need to know how to use. You will learn the functions and safety features of each tool. You will also be given the opportunity to use the tools in practice so you can leave with the knowledge and confidence to use these tools independently in your home.

Tools we will be teaching include:
Power drill
Circular Saw
Jigsaw
Miter saw

With these tools in your home, you can do most basic DIY builds.

All supplies, tools, and safety equipment will be provided for you. Please ensure to wear closed-toed shoes, limited to no jewelry, and clothing that will not catch in any of the power tools.

EMPOWER Shop Class is...

• A series of Woodshop sessions intended for those that historically aren't included in the world of woodworking... such as those who identify as women, nonbinary, LGBTQIA+, or are differently-abled in neurodiversities or physically differently-abled.
• Led by nontraditional woodworking instructors. These sessions cover the basics, adaptive methods, and building confidence with tools in and out of the woodshop.
• All skill levels are welcome. The EMPOWER Shop Class can be taken as many times as desired as the project changes each class.
• Scheduled EVERY 4th Sunday from 3:00-5:30pm
