What we’re about
The Busy Bees are a large collective of moms and a few dads throughout the Columbia area (Irmo, Chapin, Lexington, West Columbia, downtown, and the NE). Our goal is to help fellow parents find others they have things in common with and to form relationships for them and their children.
This group is to help support mostly stay at home moms (and Dads!) with more options for "what to do" and "where to go" and "who can I talk into going with me!" Most of our events take place in the morning and early afternoon, with the occasional weekend event, and are geared towards babies to kindergarten age. Baby friendly older siblings are always welcome! We have home playdates, zoo outings, museum outings, park trips, and swim meet-ups. Come join us!
We don't expect everyone to attend everything! We hope that from this bigger group you will find your own little group of support, friendship, and laughs.
Our attendance policy is that you come to at least one event per month. We want an active group with active members! Attendance will be taken every month with a reminder at the 2 month mark. If you have not met the minimum requirements and have not reached out to an organizer your membership will be deleted. But don’t worry you can always reapply when you are ready to jump back in! We are super sympathetic to illnesses and family circumstances and will not hold that against anyone but we ask that you message an admin if you are unable to meet the requirements.
Please take note that when you join, you are the one we expect to see at events. While we appreciate that you may have a caregiver for your child if you work we ask that you only RSVP if you are coming. If you are looking to join for a caregiver to come in your place we kindly ask that they join and this will be considered on a case by case basis.
We charge a $10 due per member per year to help fund Meetup costs and with large group events that is due at the time of joining and is nonrefundable. This is payable via PayPal friends and family or through Venmo!
