Evil Dead: The Musical

Needs a location

Join us Saturday, October 8th for a night of music and mayhem at this live performance of Evil Dead: The Musical. Put on by Actors Theatre of Charlotte - this perfect October event takes place outside (so bring your own lawn chairs) and includes a bloody splash zone (bring rain gear!) and a chance to zombify yourself (additional fee) before the show!

And thanks to the generosity of the ATC, we have a special code you can use as well!

Use the code GEEKS for $5 off the regular theater ticket price (good only for the October 8th show). Does not apply for Zombify DIY.

BUY YOUR TICKETS HERE: https://atcharlotte.org/event/evil-dead/

You MUST buy your tickets in advance for both the show, and if you want to participate in the Zombify DIY.

## About the Show (from the ATC Website)

Based on Sam Raimi’s 80’s cult classic films.

When five college friends go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, their plans of jello shots and strip poker are dashed when they accidentally unleash an evil force that begins taking them out one-by-one. Blood will fly. Limbs will be dismembered. And demons will tell really bad jokes. It’s all up to Ash and his trusty chainsaw to save the day as musical mayhem descends upon this sleepover in the woods and “camp” takes on a whole new meaning.

ATC returns deep into the forests of The Barn at MoRA for more spooky fall fun. Real Deadites will want to experience the SPLATTER ZONE– a specially designated seating area that puts you in the middle of the action. Join uuuusssss!!!

What’s that you say? You’re more than just a Deadite, you’re an actual Kandarian Demon?! Well then you better learn how to look the part at our Zombify DIY event. Join the incomparable Martin Barry before the show on October 8th @ 6pm for a zombie makeup tutorial. Tickets are only $15 and include a personal makeup kit to follow along with Martin and transform into the ultimate evil dead! Don’t forget to also buy tickets for the show so you can show off your new look as an audience member.

Hurley has also written for The Atlantic, Writers Digest, Entertainment Weekly, The Village Voice, LA Weekly, Bitch Magazine, and Locus Magazine.

The Book:

Somewhere on the outer rim of the universe, a mass of decaying world-ships known as the Legion is traveling in the seams between the stars. For generations, a war for control of the Legion has been waged, with no clear resolution. As worlds continue to die, a desperate plan is put into motion.

Zan wakes with no memory, prisoner of a people who say they are her family. She is told she is their salvation - the only person capable of boarding the Mokshi, a world-ship with the power to leave the Legion. But Zan's new family is not the only one desperate to gain control of the prized ship. Zan finds that she must choose sides in a genocidal campaign that will take her from the edges of the Legion's gravity well to the very belly of the world.

Zan will soon learn that she carries the seeds of the Legion's destruction - and its possible salvation. But can she and her ragtag band of followers survive the horrors of the Legion and its people long enough to deliver it?
