We meet every Saturday at a local coffee shop to play games, hang out, and connect over a shared love of the board. Whether you’re new to chess or a lifelong player—everyone’s welcome.
This is, anecdotally, the largest chess Meetup in the Bay Area. It’s been running weekly for over ten years, and has grown into a friendly, informal, and self-organizing tradition. Many players don’t even know it’s a Meetup—they just know: Saturdays = chess.
We’re here to play, to be kind to one another, and to keep the game alive in the city we love.
