This varied walk is one not to miss, with woodland scenic pastures, as well as the buzzing Chatsworth 🎄Xmas Market.🎄

The route starts in Bakewell and ascends through woodland to emerge on Calton Pastures.

We make our way through woodland to the top of the hill with panoramic views all around us. There are welcome benches for you to sit and take in the views, look out for deer roaming these beautiful pastures.

Our route heads down to the picture postcard Village of Edensor, the houses exhibit every type of style from Norman arches, castellated turrets, and Tudor chimneys from Alpine roofs.
Much of the village is privately owned by the Dukes of Devonshire.

Leaving this beautiful chocolate box village, the route heads up through scenic pastures crossing the ornate bridge built in 1759 in an Italianate style to Chatsworth House and the buzzing Xmas Market.
We'll spend plenty of time there to have a look around the stalls and grab a hot drink and mince pie..

Leaving the bright lights, we follow the route by the riverside to Calton Lees Garden Centre to join a path across scenic open pastures.

The grassy path joins a lane which takes us back into Bakewell onto Station Road where most of us are probably parked..

Time for a festive drink at the Castle Inn..🍻

An undulating walk, expect muddy paths..

Toilet facilities in Bakewell near the Co-op and Chatsworth

Bring a picnic lunch and snacks, as always catching up stops and breaks along the way

Walking boots are essential
As always check the weather and dress accordingly, plenty of layers are needed
