Welcome to The DMV Adventure Crew — a group of fun-loving explorers from the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas! Whether we're hitting the trails for a scenic hike, enjoying a delicious brunch, singing our hearts out at karaoke, sipping fine wines at a local winery, or discovering a new favorite spot, we're all about making memories, building connections, and experiencing everything the DMV has to offer. From weekend getaways and exciting local events to casual outings and spontaneous adventures, there's always something new to explore. Whether you're outgoing or more laid-back, new to the area or a longtime local, there's a place for you here. Come solo or bring a friend, step outside your comfort zone, meet new people, and make the most of your free time. Life is better when shared with good people and great experiences. ## 1. Who Should Join?

The DMV Adventure Crew is for adults who enjoy exploring new places, trying different activities, meeting people, and making meaningful social connections.
Whether you're new to the DMV, looking to expand your social circle, hoping to make new friends, or simply searching for fun things to do outside your usual routine, you're welcome here! You don't need to know anyone before joining, and you don't have to attend every event. Participate at your own pace, explore activities that interest you, and connect with fellow members along the way. Our goal is to create a friendly community where people can get out, experience new things, and make lasting memories together.

## 2. What to Expect

We offer a variety of activities and experiences throughout the DMV and beyond, including:

• Outdoor Adventures: Scenic hikes, nature walks, parks, and other outdoor excursions.
• Food & Social Outings: Brunches, dinners, happy hours, and exploring local restaurants.
• Entertainment & Nightlife: Karaoke, live music, comedy shows, festivals, and other fun events.
• Wine & Leisure: Winery visits, tastings, and relaxing social experiences.
• Weekend Getaways: Day trips, overnight stays, and opportunities to explore destinations beyond the DMV.
• Seasonal & Special Events: Holiday celebrations, cultural events, local attractions, and unique experiences.
• New Adventures: Member suggestions, new activities, and opportunities to try something different.

Our event lineup will vary, so there's no guarantee that every type of activity will be offered on a particular schedule. The best way to stay in the loop is to check the upcoming events and RSVP to the ones that interest you!

## 3. Community Guidelines & Expectations

We want The DMV Adventure Crew to be a welcoming, respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable community for everyone.
By joining and participating, members are expected to:

• Be respectful: Treat fellow members, organizers, venue staff, and others with courtesy and consideration.
• Be inclusive: Welcome new faces, respect different backgrounds and perspectives, and help create an environment where people feel comfortable participating.
• Respect boundaries: Be mindful of personal space, consent, privacy, and others' comfort levels.
• Keep things positive: Help foster a friendly atmosphere. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, and disruptive behavior are not welcome.
• Avoid unwanted solicitation: Do not use the group to spam members, promote unrelated businesses, or engage in unauthorized sales or recruitment.
• Respect the group and its events: Follow posted event instructions, venue rules, and reasonable requests from organizers.

Everyone is here to enjoy themselves, meet people, and have a good time. Please help make that possible. Members who engage in inappropriate behavior or repeatedly disregard group guidelines may be removed from the group or excluded from future events, as appropriate.

## 4. Events, RSVPs & Cancellations

Please read each event description carefully before RSVPing. Event listings may include important information about the location, start time, activity requirements, costs, transportation, reservations, and other arrangements. When you RSVP, please do so thoughtfully and make a reasonable effort to attend. Organizers may spend time coordinating plans, securing reservations, purchasing tickets, or arranging activities based on the number of expected attendees. If your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as possible. For events involving limited spaces, advance bookings, deposits, or nonrefundable expenses, timely cancellations are especially important. Some events may require advance registration, deposits, tickets, or confirmation directly with a venue or third-party provider. Event details, schedules, and arrangements may occasionally change due to weather, venue policies, availability, or circumstances outside the organizer's control. Please check event updates before heading out.

## 5. Expenses & Event Costs

Unless an event description states otherwise, members are responsible for their own expenses, including meals, drinks, admission fees, tickets, transportation, accommodations, and other personal purchases. Some activities may involve advance payments, deposits, shared expenses, or nonrefundable bookings. Any known required costs and payment arrangements should be communicated in the event description or before members commit.
Please review the details carefully before RSVPing and make sure you're comfortable with any associated costs. Members should pay venues, vendors, and service providers directly unless an event description explicitly explains another arrangement. Any shared expenses or payments coordinated by the organizer will be communicated clearly in advance.
Participation in group events is voluntary, and no one is required to attend activities or make purchases that do not fit their preferences or budget.

## 6. Financial Disclosure

The organizer of The DMV Adventure Crew does not receive personal financial compensation, commissions, kickbacks, or other monetary benefits for hosting, coordinating, or promoting group events unless explicitly disclosed otherwise.
The organizer has no undisclosed financial interest in the events or vendors promoted through the group. Participation in events is voluntary, and members are responsible for their own expenses unless otherwise stated in the applicable event description.
If an event involves compensation, sponsorship, referral benefits, or another financial arrangement benefiting the organizer, that relationship will be disclosed as applicable.

## 7. Personal Responsibility, Safety & Liability Disclaimer

Participation in all group activities and events is voluntary. Each participant is responsible for evaluating the risks associated with an activity and deciding whether it is appropriate for their abilities, comfort level, and circumstances. The organizer is a volunteer community organizer, not a law enforcement officer, security professional, medical professional, tour guide, or emergency responder. The organizer does not guarantee the safety of any event, venue, activity, transportation arrangement, or participant. Each participant is responsible for their own conduct, decisions, personal belongings, physical condition, and safety, as well as for complying with applicable laws, venue rules, posted instructions, and directions from qualified professionals where appropriate. Participants should take reasonable precautions, bring any necessary supplies, and inform themselves of relevant risks before attending. For outdoor activities and other physically demanding events, members should assess their own fitness and preparedness and follow applicable safety guidance.
The organizer may share event information and coordinate group activities but cannot control every circumstance, action, or condition that may arise during an event. Participants are encouraged to use good judgment and take appropriate steps to protect themselves and their belongings. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the organizer and group disclaim responsibility for injuries, accidents, losses, damages, theft, or other incidents arising from or related to participation in group events, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded. By choosing to attend an event, participants acknowledge that they are responsible for their own participation and agree to exercise appropriate care and judgment.

## 8. Alcohol & Transportation

Some group activities may involve wineries, tastings, restaurants, bars, or other venues where alcohol is served. Participation in alcohol-related activities is optional. Members are expected to follow applicable laws, venue rules, and responsible drinking practices.
Anyone who consumes alcohol should plan appropriate transportation in advance and must not drive while impaired. Consider a designated sober driver, rideshare, public transportation, or another safe alternative. Members are responsible for their own transportation arrangements unless an event description explicitly states otherwise.
