Afternoon Walk at Lake Needwood 🚶‍♂️🏞🍂

🚶‍♂️🏞Join us for a nice walk around Lake Needwood on Sunday Sept 25th.

Please try and park in the meeting spot location, but if you cannot find parking there, feel free to park in the other two parking spots and make sure you quickly walk to the meeting spot to meet us there.

The 75-acre freshwater Lake Needwood was formed by damming Rock Creek. The lake is surrounded by deciduous woods, and the majority of the habitat here is representative of Piedmont wooded stream valleys. There are also some fields and overgrown meadows. Shorebird habitat appears in a few places along the lake shore.

The hike is 2.6mi in length and is a loop which will take us approx 1.5 - 2 hours to complete factoring in sitting by the lake, taking pics and chit chatting with group members.

After the lake, we will have lunch in the nearby dining district of Rio in Gaithersburg.
