What we’re about
Do you love hiking? Do you love the outdoors? Are you a millennial and proud of your side part and skinny jeans? Come join The East Bay Hiking Club on weekend hikes throughout the bay area! We do monthly day hikes between 6 to 10 miles. Bring positive vibes and your water bottle. We’ve also started branching out into some local no -hiking activities
We foster an inclusive and supportive community. The East Bay Hiking Club welcomes people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, races, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, or other identity.
Since many of our hikes occur in the East Bay, please always make sure you don’t have items in your car visible. This will decrease the likelihood of cars being broken break ins.

Tide pools at Pillar Point
West Point Parking Lot, 22 W Point Ave, Moss Beach, CA, USDetails:
Come join me in exploring some tide pools! For those unfamiliar, tide pools are rocky pools of seawater that are exposed as the tide recedes. Many creatures inhabit these pools, such as crabs, sea anemones, and starfish. This weekend will be a king tide, so more of the beach will be exposed for exploration! We'll meet at 2 pm since low tide will be at 5:30 pm. This will give us some time to explore as the tide goes out and comes back in. For those interested, we can also grab some dinner in the area after we finish.
Where to meet:
Pillar Point west access parking lot. I would recommend parking in the streets just before the West Point Parking lot (https://maps.app.goo.gl/LpZPmmn8PMaMCFk17).
What to bring:
- Shoes, preferably muckboots ( ones that you won't mind getting wet)
- Hat
- Water
- Sunscreen
- Jacket/windbreaker
- GoPro/underwater camera ( if you have one)
