Finding Compassion in Grief: An Introduction to Navigating Loss with IFS

Details

Grief is an inherent part of the human experience. Whether it stems from the loss of a loved one, the ending of a relationship, career transitions, or other significant life changes, we will all encounter grief in its many forms. Learning how to navigate these challenging emotions and even find ways to welcome the lessons they hold can be profoundly beneficial for our well-being and growth.
This 1.5-hour introductory workshop offers a gentle and insightful framework for understanding and working with grief using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. IFS provides a compassionate lens through which we can explore the different "parts" of ourselves that emerge during times of loss – the sadness, the anger, the confusion, and more. You'll discover that each of these parts has a positive intention and plays a role in our healing process.
In this workshop, you will:

  • Understand the core principles of the IFS model and how they apply to the experience of grief.
  • Participate in guided reflections to identify and connect with the various parts of yourself that are present in your grief.
  • Learn how to approach these parts with curiosity, compassion, and understanding, fostering greater self-acceptance.
  • Explore the potential for finding wisdom and growth even within the pain of loss.

This workshop is for anyone who has experienced grief in any form, at any time. It's an opportunity to learn practical tools for navigating these powerful emotions with more kindness towards yourself. No prior knowledge of IFS is required. Join us as we explore how to meet our grief with compassion and begin to integrate its lessons into our lives.
