Dear Friends of The Erotic Literary Salon,

Thank you for being part of The Erotic Literary Salon community and for your patience as you've waited for its next chapter. I want to share some exciting news about a new direction for the Salon while honoring its roots and future potential.

As you may know, Lauren Ryan has taken over The Erotic Literary Salon Meetup group and has expressed her intention to restart in-person events. While the timing of those plans remains uncertain, I am thrilled to introduce a complementary project that brings the spirit of the Salon to life in a new way: The Erotic Literary Salon—Digital Edition—a print-based revival monthly newsletter.

This online space builds on the tradition of intimate and, at times, explicit writings, featured presenters (erotica authors, experts in the field of sexuality), and audience participation during Sex-Ed Q&A that defined the Salon for 12 years. The format is different, but the heart remains the same—a sanctuary for sharing and celebrating uncensored, authentic expressions.

Here’s what you’ll find in the new Salon:

  • The Erotic Literary Salon: Monthly creative writing prompts with an opportunity to have your works featured. Including the Salon favorite: The Exquisite Corpse.
  • Adult Sex-Ed Q&A: Sex-positive, practical answers to your anonymous questions.
  • Does Sex Have an Expiration Date?: My book, shared in installments.
  • Censorship of Sexual and Erotic Material: An ongoing exploration of how censorship shapes our perceptions of sexuality and erotica. You are encouraged to share your experiences with censorship.
  • Newsworthy Updates: Curated news and research, and resources focused on sexuality.

I see this digital Salon as a complement to Lauren’s future in-person gatherings—a way to expand the Salon’s reach while offering a fresh platform for connection and creativity.

Please view the enclosed video of Frances Seidman, who attended every Salon when she wasn't being a snow bird in Florida. She was born in 1917 and died in 2017, 1/2 year short of 101. She climbed the stairs to the Salon, until her body felt 7 years of sharing some incredible stories was enough.
