Mark your calendars for our October discussion of *Lady Susan* by Jane Austen!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Beautiful, charming, and utterly without scruple, Lady Susan Vernon is a recently widowed aristocrat with a gift for manipulation—and an appetite for securing the most advantageous future possible. This heroine is not a young woman learning to navigate society, but a brilliant, predatory social strategist who understands exactly how power, reputation, money, and desire operate.

ABOUT THE GILDED QUILL
Our club is open to all lovers of literature from the 18th- and 19th-centuries (global literature). We generally meet on the last Sunday of the month. Currently, we are meeting on Zoom only but the club will open to in-person gatherings in the Dover, NH area soon.

Follow our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/gildedquill) to vote in polls and get updates.

Here are some useful details for all meetings:
This is a casual, fun meet-up for lovers of literature from the periods. There are no requirements to join the group, except that you love to read and discuss these works! Anyone who has read at least some of the novel is invited to participate.

This is a group that discusses literature. No conversations concerning religion or politics (or related topics) are allowed, unless clearly pertinent to the discussion of the works and unpacked within that context.
We respect each other in this group. No discrimination or bullying behaviors of any kind are tolerated. Together, we create a safe space to share ideas about literature and to build a friendly, welcoming community.
