November Book: The Morgesons by Elizabeth Stoddard
Details
Mark your calendars for our November discussion of *The Morgesons* by Elizabeth Stoddard!
ABOUT THE BOOK
Part Gothic romance, part psychological coming-of-age tale, The Morgesons is an unsettling and sensuous novel about female desire, rebellion, family, and self-possession. Beneath its quiet New England surfaces lies something wilder: a woman determined to claim her own life, even when doing so means trespassing into territory respectable society would rather keep buried.

This is a casual, fun meet-up for lovers of literature from the periods. There are no requirements to join the group, except that you love to read and discuss these works! Anyone who has read at least some of the novel is invited to participate.
This is a group that discusses literature. No conversations concerning religion or politics (or related topics) are allowed, unless clearly pertinent to the discussion of the works and unpacked within that context.
We respect each other in this group. No discrimination or bullying behaviors of any kind are tolerated. Together, we create a safe space to share ideas about literature and to build a friendly, welcoming community.
