The Glasgow Photography Club

At this event, you will have the chance to experiment with flash photography, whether that be with your own equipment or using some of the gear we'll provide on the day.

If you would like to add some great new images to your portfolio this is for you. One of our models is a dancer, so we can experiment with slow motion blur like in the header image. The organisers will be on hand to help you with any aspect of the shoot. If you're new to this type of photography, please do come along and we'll help you take home some photographs to be proud of. For this event we will be working on no more than a 1:2 model to photographer ratio. This will give each photographer lots of individual time with the model and attention from our experts.

If you don't have any flash equipment and wish to make use of ours, do bring a DSLR (or film if you're brave!) or mirrorless camera with a standard flash hotshoe so we can fit a flash trigger.

The Riverside is a fabulous museum with lots of interesting features including a replica 19th Century cobbled street full of shops that we can enter, including pub, photographer's studio and Subway Stationt. Weather permitting, we can take advantage of the Sailing ship berthed outside on the River Clyde and the very interesting architecture of the museum itself. It all makes for a splendid backdrop for photographs. Our models will be resplendent in fancy dress.
The opportunity to shoot a model in this great environment would suit any level of experience, as a professional photographer will be there to help with set up and advise. You will have access to a variety of portable lighting and light modifiers. Feel free to bring along any equipment including lights that you would like to use during the shoot.
It would be a great opportunity for any photographer to pose and photograph a model in this unique setting, and add quality images to your portfolio.
On the day we will be working on a ratio of no more than 1:2 model to photogrpaher. We aim to have other female and character models at this event too, in addition to our featured models.
We will meet at the tables, next to the black horse and carriage at the reconsructed street.

The museum is located on Pointerhouse Rd on the banks of the Clyde, just a short stroll form Partick Station.
