Joy Journaling Online: Dreams, Symbolism & Self-Reflection
Details
Dreams can leave us with images, feelings and questions that linger long after we wake up.
Join Naya, a writer and poet behind Pens With Intention, and Luana, who works with dreams, for an online Joy Journaling session exploring the science of dreaming, symbolism and creative writing.
Through Luana’s presentation and two guided journaling prompts led by Naya, we’ll explore dreams from different perspectives and use writing to reflect on what might emerge.
You don’t need to remember a dream or have any writing experience. Just bring a notebook, a pen and a little curiosity.
What Happens In The Session:
We’ll begin with introductions, giving everyone a moment to settle in and get to know who’s joining us.
Part One: Understanding Dreams with Luana
I’m Luana, an art therapist with a background in Psychology, interested in the ways dreams, symbols and creative expression can help us explore our inner worlds. My work is rooted in Jungian perspectives and expressive approaches, creating space for reflection, curiosity and a deeper relationship with ourselves. For this session, I’ll introduce symbolic approaches to dreams and invite you to explore them with curiosity.
A Short Break
After the first 40 minutes, we’ll take a 10-minute break. Make a coffee, stretch your legs or simply step away from the screen for a moment before we come back together.
Part Two: Joy Journaling with Naya
I’m Naya, a writer and poet, and the person behind Pens With Intention. I create spaces for people to explore their thoughts and feelings through writing, without the pressure of getting it right. For the final 40 minutes, I’ll guide you through two journaling prompts inspired by our exploration of dreams. We’ll use creative writing to reflect, follow our thoughts and see what emerges when we give ourselves time to write. Some prompts might feel easy. Others might take you somewhere unexpected. There’s no need to force meaning or arrive at a particular conclusion. The writing itself is an opportunity to explore.
There will be space to share if you want to, and space to keep everything to yourself. Both are part of the session.
Who It Is For
This is for people who:
• are curious about dreams, symbolism and the inner world
• want to learn more about the science of dreaming
• enjoy creative prompts but don’t consider themselves writers
• want to make space for reflection in the middle of everyday life
• are looking for something thoughtful, open and a little unexpected
• are from all backgrounds and identities
You don’t need to arrive with a dream to unpack or a big reason to come. Curiosity is enough.
