Natomas Trench Run: FPV Canal Sessions & Bridge Gaps
Details
Calling all FPV pilots! It’s time to rip up the terrain for our next Sacramento Drone Club meetup. This Sunday, we are shifting our focus to pure FPV freestyle, proximity flying, and flow.
We’re taking advantage of the dry water canals around Natomas Regional Park to turn the area into a natural FPV playground. Think of it as a massive, grassy halfpipe.
The Flight Plan:
- Canal Cannon Runs: Lock in your altitude and blast down the low-profile trenches.
- Bridge Gaps & Power Loops: We’ll be practicing smooth lines and proximity passes under a couple of bridges, with plenty of room to send it over the top for power loops.
- Open Sky for Camera Drones: Have a stabilized camera drone or just want to cruise? There is still plenty of open airspace above the trenches to capture the action or practice basic maneuvers.
> 🚨 CRITICAL LOCATION NOTE: We are changing our regular setup spot inside the park for this event! To ensure we get the best possible RF video signal and line-of-sight while flying deep inside the canals, we are moving the pilot pits. Check the pinned map for the exact coordinates.
