What we’re about

This is a Personal growth—psychology group, with the purpose of becoming unstuck in where we might be and then reaching for psychological and spiritual enlightenment. We meet every two weeks on a Friday night.

There are so many names that we could call this group. After careful consideration, we have chosen the insight circle. We feel that it reflects the purpose and energy of the group. Here are just a few that were definite possibilities. They all shed light on what this group is about. Check them out.

The psychological flexibility group
The life skills group
The meaningful discussion group
The like-minded connection group
TheMeditation group
The Values and goals group
The personal inquiry group
The committed action group
The spiritual psychological network group
This is not group therapy.

Our group is a IMPROVISATIONAL DISCUSSION group focusing on meaningful topics, all related to psychology and spiritual subjects. When most people think of improv, they think of comedy, the more laughs, the more successful the improv is. In our improvisational discussions the more INSIGHTS and laughter we have makes our improv a success. The method is easy and the insights are many.

I myself, Brian Phillips, the host of this meetup, view these topics primarily through the perspectives of the HANDBOOK TO HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS by Ken Keyes, the ACT PSYCHOLOGY APPROACH, Stephen Hayes. SAM HARRIS, and Spiral Dynamics.
Other members have their favorites to share. It’s a very unique group. Join us.

Examples of the topics are,

Spiral dynamics
Stages of consciousness
freedom from addictive demands,
transcending the ego self
meditation,
Comedy nights. Where we share our favorites, comedians. Online.
concentration and visualization,
Dinner nights, where we visit a local restaurant .
creativity,
different states of consciousness,
living in the present moment
committed actions
acceptance
Relationships
Integral Life Practice
Compassion
The meaning of life
Values
Spiritual Evolution
dealing with negative thinking
the experience of psychological flexibility
and of course we can go on and on.
We can bring quotes from our favorite books that are related to the topic of the night.

Join us, as we inquire into and practice the insights we gain from our discussions

We welcome all to come, whether you’re familiar with the topic or not, and to share your thoughts, stories, and energy with the group.

We hope to see you soon.
