About us
On the last Tuesday of every month we screen an independent, subtitled or classic film, upstairs in the Circular/The Other Hand bar, in Rialto in Dublin 8.
We tend to alternate between classic and contemporary fare. Recent screenings include, for instance, The Passenger and The Bitter Tears fo Petra Von Kant, and Portrait of a Lady on Fire and The Florida Project.
If you want to find out more about the kind of films that I gravitate towards, have a quick look at my blog at http://anthonyokeeffe.com where I post every month on All the best and worst in film, television and music.
NB. Because of all the many No shows, there’s a ‘3 Strikes and you’re out policy’.
If you book a place, but can’t make it, and then FAIL to then CANCEL, once, twice and then thrice, you will alas be asked to leave the group. As it’s not fair on everyone else in the group, who would have loved to have taken your place.

Sorry, Baby (2025)
The Circular & The Other Hand Bar, 536-538 South Circular Road, Dublin 8, D, IE“Sorry Baby, Eva Victor’s near-perfect debut is clever, warm and original…”
So began Donald Clark’s review of Eva Victor’s feature film debut when it was released in cinemas in 2025, which you can read here.
Full disclosure, so to speak. Donald is one of the very few film critics whose recommendations I take seriously, and whose articles I actively seek out.
