๐ Book Club at The Karma House! ๐
Current Book: Death Takes Me by Christina Rivera Garza
Calling all book lovers! Join us for our bi-weekly Book Club at The Karma House, where we dive into captivating stories and engage in thought-provoking discussions. We meet every other Wednesday from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Whether youโre an avid reader or just looking to get back into the habit, our Book Club is the perfect place to share your love of literature, discover new books, and connect with fellow readers in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Its a pretty lowkey book club. We hope to foster a community of readers and create space for intellectual discussion. We incorporate topical discussion as well as book discussion. Books are democratically chosen, we each nominate choices and then vote on which books we read. The structure is to read at our own pace, it easily accommodates folks at different spots in the book. We've read fiction and nonfiction, graphic novels and memoirs, self-help and fantasy, totally up to the vibes of the group from week to week!
About The Karma House
The Karma House isnโt your average bar โ weโre an alcohol-free kava bar and community hub in Lakewood, CO. Our space was created to bring people together through music, art, wellness, and connection. From live shows to poetry nights to wellness workshops, everything we do centers around community and creating a safe, welcoming atmosphere for all.
What is a Kava Bar?
Kava bars are unique gathering places where people come to connect and unwind without alcohol. Instead of cocktails, we serve traditional Polynesian kava โ a calming root tea that has been used for centuries in the South Pacific for relaxation, stress relief, and social connection.
What is Kava?
Kava is made from the root of the Piper methysticum plant. It has gentle, grounding effects that can help calm the body and quiet the mind, making it perfect for relaxing, connecting, and enjoying good company. At The Karma House, we prepare our shells of kava with care and community in mind โ itโs more than a drink, itโs a ritual of connection.
