Let 's get together and discuss arguably the central JKL's book.
It's available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Dinosaur-Beach-Cover-Freas-Laumer/dp/B000Q11ET4/ and was at least once released on a CD under a permissive license, so the copy of the CD is posted online: http://hell.pl/szymon/Baen/The%20Baltic%20War/Odyssey/0743435273__18.htm

An earlier version of the novel (in the form of a novelette, without the love story) made it in the Timetracks collection: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2659443-timetracks

Some of the book's ideas resemble Azimov's "End of Eternity", but there is texture beyond the structure, and I am afraid that it's not important any less.

Translations to other languages exist.

Peet's is on the southern side of University. Alex still looks like his photo.
