Laid Back Writers: January 2026 - Writing

The January 2026 Liverpool Laid-Back Writers Meeting will be on Sunday 18th January at 12 noon to 3pm. Afterwards, anyone interested can stay on for further drinks and a chat.

This event will be held in the downstairs area in Kabin at Kabannas on Mathew St in the Cavern quarter. This move has been prompted by the Ship and Mitre commencing to charge a fee for the use of their upstairs room.

The Kabin will be serving an all-you-can-eat 'bottomless breakfast' for £9.95 until 12:00. Therefore members who fancy a bite to eat can turn up to the LLBW Breakfast Club from 11:00 onwards to enjoy a full-English/continental hotel breakfast buffet (including teas and coffees) that's very good value for money. Pizza's and burgers will also be available through the day. Eating the hotel food is not mandatory, however it should be borne in mind that the use of the space for free is dependent on adequate returns for drinks and food.

Submissions of up to 1500 words are invited. Either a bespoke story or an excerpt of your current work. I'd suggest posting a comment in the event chat with a view-only Google documents link (docs.google.com) and sharing set to 'anyone with the link', so that I can post a message notifying the links to the attendees to read by 12th Jan.

Topic: The mystery of the disappearing presents.
