The Launch Community Stranger Social

Join us for our June Stranger Social, a casual Saturday brunch where new faces are more than welcome, and no one needs to pretend they have it all figured out.

This month’s theme is Bring a Bowl. Bring something brunch-y you love eating from a bowl -- with enough to share. Cereal, fruit, yogurt, granola, peanut butter -- fancy is fine, and simple is great. We'll build our bowls together for a shared brunch.

The Launch Community is an experiment in unlikely community. While most groups form around shared interests or backgrounds, we’re more interested in what it means to practice connection to build belonging with people you might not otherwise cross paths with.

You might be:

• Working on a goal or creative project and needing some motivation
• Looking for friendships that are both uplifting and accountable
• Excited to try new things or approach community in a different way

We meet twice a month: Stranger Socials like this one are open to everyone, and Connect + Expand gatherings are where we go deeper together.

You don’t need to have been before, or commit to anything after. Stranger Socials are our way of inviting new folks in. It's low-stakes, no-pressure, and hopefully a bit joyful. There’ll be plenty of easy ways to start conversations and connect, and space to just hang out too.

There’s no cost to attend, but if you’re able, a koha of $10–20 helps keep things going, covering venue hire and admin. MoveSpace is centrally located and easy to reach by bus, bike, or car.
