What we’re about
The mission of The Lawn Chair Philosophy Foundation is to make academic philosophy more accessible. Through our LCP Academy program, we hold free webinar courses and events, as well as provide donation-based consultation and editing services. In this meetup group, we'll advertise our course meetings and events.
The LCP Academy is an extension of the Lawn Chair Philosophy school of thought. As such, it is a space delineated by a commitment to radically rigorous self-exploration, community involvement, and, of course, LCP’s aesthetically-situated, feminist axioms. Our teaching pedagogy is motivated by LCP’s Hands-On Heuristics and serves to direct our programming around the interests and intellectual wellbeing of those who study with us.
Here we provide the same quality educational experience offered by collegiate philosophy departments without the cultural and financial limitations of collegiate pomp and circumstance. And our commitment to alternative ways of engaging in academic scholarship marks this space as a hermitage for experimental philosophers, both honoring and challenging the bounds of the traditional academy model in spirit, theory, and act. Whether you’re new to academic philosophy or a seasoned researcher, we invite you to come study with us.
All special topic and survey courses are free for those who attend. We use a webinar format and offer the general links for anyone wishing to be an attendee on this site. Private source material and the opportunity to participate as a panelist in the webinar are provided to our official LCP Academy Study Group Members. Membership for our Study Group is is free - just fill out the following form to be added to our email list and gain access to our private database of philosophical resources:
If you have any questions about our courses, events, and other services, do not hesitate to reach out to our Philosopher in Chief at email@example.com or visit our website at www.lcpfoundation.org. We're delighted for you to come study with us 8-)
