A Turkish Adventure!

The Plan: Come and join us for a week-long Turkish sailing adventure exploring the amazing Lycian coast of Turkey onboard a luxury yacht. We will be sailing to a different beautiful bay or small town each night as we make our way along the coast in style. With a plan to sail 3-5 hours a day there will be time to explore each destination and enjoy the local cuisine each evening as we go. We will be sailing as a small group of yachts throughout. No experience is necessary. Jonathan King will operate the boat he runs as a non-commercial trip run on a shared-cost basis. Mike Johns will operate the trip through Sailscape as a commercial trip run on a cost price basis exclusively for LSC members. We will sail together throughout the week
When: 7th – 14th June 2025
(Please note you need to arrive in Marmaris by around 1pm on the 7th June, so you will likely need to fly on Friday 6th June but evening flights are available).
Where: We will start from Yildiz Adasi (nr Marmaris), Mugla, Turkey and visit a number of bays/towns including Orhaniye, Kocabahce, Bozuk Buku and Bozburun throughout the week. The route is not fixed and may vary depending on conditions, but we will be sure to stay in some beautiful unspoilt places!
The yacht: All yachts will be 43-53’ in length with either 4 or 5 cabin, all mod cons, spacious accommodation, multiple bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with drinks fridge and a lot of sunbathing space on deck! The yachts have space for up to 10 people on-board but we will sail with a max of 6-8 to ensure there is space for everyone on each boat. We never expect anyone to be sleeping in the saloon.
Event skippers: The boats will be skippered by Mike Johns and Jonathan King. Additional skippers have already expressed interest in taking further boats as the group grows.
Accommodation: Accommodation will be in shared double or twin cabins. We often get asked if cabins are available for sole occupancy and, of course that’s fine, however we can only accommodate this if you agree to cover the full charter cost of the other space in the cabin.
Cost: £880 per person
To be paid as 2 instalments

• Deposit : £440 due to confirm your place
• Balance : : £440 due Friday 4th April 2025

The cost includes basic charter and insurance costs of the yacht, end cleaning, towels, bed linen, dinghy and cooking gas. Breakfasts, lunches and soft drinks aboard are all included along with some alcoholic beverages at the skippers discretion.
Extras: Additional costs to consider are flights, transfers and any accommodation ashore (at the start or end of the trip) plus restaurant/bar bills ashore.
Flights: approx. £200-400 return depending and the exact date/time of travel. Dalaman airport is the closest international airport with direct flights from several London airports. Private transfers approx. £35 however, hopefully we can combine and reduce the costs per person.
Note that, because this trip is being advertised via the London Sailing Club’s platforms, anyone who is not already a full member of the Club (which costs £24 per year) will need to join prior to the start of the trip.
