The Northern Rhone is one of the premier wine producing areas of France and includes the appellations of Hermitage, Cote Rotie, Cornas, Crozes-Hermitage, St Joseph, Condrieu and St Peray. They produce some of the best Syrahs in the world as well as fine whites. The region has spectacular hillside vineyards, the Gallo-Roman town of Vienne, fine dining and, of course, the majestic Rhone river.
