About us

Welcome to The Madrid Review LIVE — a literary and cultural meetup for curious minds, good conversation and people who still get excited about books, ideas, art, films, magazines, music, politics, philosophy, history and the strange magic of meeting strangers in a city like Madrid.

We meet at Maria Pandora, 5 mins from the Almudena Cathedral and a short walk down from La Latina, for evenings that feel more like an old-fashioned salon than a networking event. James and Jayne interview guests and lead conversations that move freely between literature and life, serious ideas and unexpected tangents, with writers, readers, artists, creatives, travellers, locals and international voices all free to join in.

We feature readings, interviews and guest speakers and love meeting new people. You don’t need to be a writer or be “part of the scene” to join us. You just need curiosity and a willingness to talk to people.

Come along and have a beer or a wine or a coffee or a Coke and say "hi" if you live in Madrid, or you're studying or passing through - we'd love to get to know you.
