For the early risers and hoping to photograph (hopefully) a foggy morning along the Yarra River in the city. We may catch rowers training and capture images along the river in the early hours. The purpose of this event is to capture life along the Yarra River in the city and take our chance to see what goes on around the gardens and the cbd at this unearthly hour of the day. We will take the chance to see what we can capture - I seriously have no idea but hope for the best. I am planning to take my shots in black and white - it's up to you.
SCHEDULE FOR THE MORNING

- Winter Solstice at Seaworks WilliamstownSeaworks Maritime Precinct, Williamstown, VI
This will be one of our rare events being held on a Friday evening till 8pm! So, if you are interested in exploring Williamstown in the evening followed by the Winter Solstice festival at Seaworld, a fantastic opportunity to catch the light in the evening and capture lights/night photography at this location.
INFORMATION
Seaworks is a not for profit organisation that is preserving the Williamstown maritime precinct. It includes the maritime museum , industrial outbuildings and amazing city and waterfront views .
The Seaworks Winter Solstice Festival is marking the Solstice, the longest night and shortest day of the year. This free festival runs 5pm-10pm and includes a range of indoor and outdoor happenings. Festival activities include giant puppets, circus performances, live music and dance, art installations plus a variety of food stalls. The Pirate Tavern is on site as well as a range of other eating/drinking options on Nelson Place.
We are planning to check out the waterfront area, explore the Seaworks precinct while it is still daylight and be in prime position for a waterfront sunset at 5.08pm. Then lets explore the night time entertainment and spectacle for some great night time photography! For night photography, you will need a tripod (info for those not familiar or new to night photography). You may wish to have a head torch (with red light) to help you set the camera up in the dark. Please be mindful when you turn your torch on as it could affect other photographers as they photograph. Just ask if ok to turn on your torch first. I encourage you to ask for tips on how to do night photography if you are not sure or learn from YouTube.
