  5. Wrap up

The event will be held in English and live-streamed via YouTube Live.

Starting time: June 29, 10 AM PST (SF) / 1 PM (NYC)

About the talks:

Typing with TypeScript by Christopher Harrison (Senior Cloud Advocate @ Microsoft)

With its weakly typed system, JavaScript can be a challenge to work with at times. Developers spend a lot of time having to remember object structure or finding bugs at runtime rather than design time. TypeScript resolves this (and many other issues) by introducing static typing. Christopher will walk through the core concepts of TypeScript and help you get started creating projects with a more robust language.

The Magic of Non-Linear Careers by Noga Tal (Global Head of Partnerships @ Microsoft for Startups)

Managing your career during uncertain, and even turbulent, times can be challenging but can also be an opportunity to redefine your path and better align with your passions and goals. In this session, Noga Tal will share her own journey of redefining her career 3 times (and counting) and discuss her process and tips for using times of change as a stepping stone to an improved career journey. Leaning on her academic studies and training, as well as on-the-job experience working on tech diversity programs for women, Noga will also address the unique aspects of career management women face and discuss different practices to overcome them.

Introduction to GitHub Actions by Yury Nevalenny (Senior software engineer in npm and GitHub)

GitHub announced Actions two years ago, providing repository automation and allowing you to extend the GitHub platform by building functionality that responds to events that occur in your repository. Last year, GitHub announced CI/CD build and release capabilities for GitHub Actions for Linux, Windows, and macOS. I will show you how to set up GitHub Actions for your CI/CD workflows, integrate with GitHub Package Registry, security tooling, and automating common actions in your repository.
