Moving Through Heartbreak: A Gentle Walk at Hammonasset Beach
Details
Join us for a gentle, supportive walk at Hammonasset Beach as we move our bodies and breathe in fresh air together.
We will meet up at Meigs Point parking lot (last parking area on the left. There is even a bathroom there.)
This walk is for women healing from heartbreak who want a calm, grounding way to support their hearts and minds.
We’ll walk at an easy, relaxed pace along the bike path and/or the beach, depending on how everyone feels that day. You’re welcome to talk, walk quietly, or simply be present, there’s no pressure to share. We can all just get to know eachother.
Walking outdoors, especially near the water, can help calm the nervous system, quiet racing thoughts, and create space for emotions to move through rather than stay stuck. Even gentle movement can help you feel more grounded, connected, and supported.
At the end of our walk, we’ll stop for an optional grounding moment. We can find a small rock, silently place a negative thought, worry, or heavy feeling into it, and then release it into the ocean. We can scream if needed!
This is a simple, symbolic way to acknowledge what you’re carrying and practice letting it go, even just a little.
This is not therapy, and there’s no fixing or forcing here. Come exactly as you are. Walking counts. Breathing counts. Being here counts.
What to bring:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Water
- An open heart (optional 💛)
