Healing Hike at Sessions Woods
Details
Let's get out into the woods and take a hike at Sessions Woods.
Maps address is 341 Milford Street, Burlington, CT.
We will meet at the edge of the main parking lot (I think the only parking lot) under the gazebo. There is a bathroom there as well.
We will be taking the Beaver Pond Trail which is about 2.6 miles long.
The trail is a wide gravel loop road around the property that is a bit hilly and rocky in some spots but easily traversable and has access to all of the side views and cut-through trails.
At some point of our walk, we’ll stop for an optional grounding moment where we practice a bit of a mindful practice.
Then, we can find a small rock, stick or whatever we find, silently place a negative thought, worry, or heavy feeling into it, and then throw it into the woods. We can scream if needed!
This is a simple, symbolic way to acknowledge what you’re carrying and practice letting it go, even just a little.
This is not therapy, and there’s no fixing or forcing here. Come exactly as you are.
What to bring:
- Hiking boots
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Water
- An open heart (optional 💛)
