About The Onyx Collective: BlackOut SF
The Onyx Collective leads BlackOut SF, a community hub creating simple, welcoming events for Black folks in San Francisco to connect, vibe, and support each other. We keep it low-pressure, high-intention, and rooted in care for our people.
Who this group is for
This space is for Black folks living in or near San Francisco — whether you just moved here or you’ve been here for years. If you’ve ever felt like you’re the only one in the room, or you’re looking for more Black community in the city, this is for you.
What we do
We host intimate, curated gatherings, including:
- Social mixers and game nights
- Conversations and panels around culture, money, wellness, and creativity
- Collaborations with local Black businesses, creators, and organizers
- Pop-up experiences during major cultural moments in the city
What to expect at our events
Our events are designed to be simple, welcoming, and relaxed. Expect good music, thoughtful hosts, and space to actually talk to people — not just stand in a corner. You can come solo or with friends; our team is there to make sure you feel seen, supported, and included.
