Hey Outsiders! Spring is in full swing so let’s take a hike.

This is an intermediate hike that has a little bit of everything. This loop trail starts at the base of Bear Mountain where we will hug the trail around a lake before ascending the Major Welch Trail, which follows a series of rock outcroppings and switchbacks up the mountain. Lots of gorgeous views of the river valley and Bear Mountain Bridge! The return to the car is all downhill on a breathtaking section of the historic Appalachian Trail that has literally hundreds of hand-laid stone stairs. We will be doing this hike from start to finish together - no person left behind! The pace will be moderate, and there will be plenty of breaks to take in the views, drink water, eat, and snap pics.
