About us
Welcome to The Pop-Up Choir! We are a lightly auditioned community of amateur singers who sing 70s/80s/90s/00s pop songs in an acappella style. We sing a huge range of songs (from Diana Ross, Peter Gabriel, Coldplay all the way to Taylor Swift!) and meet each week to build our set list, which we aim to perform a few times each term! We employ a musical director who leads our rehearsals and gigs, and host occasional workshops to improve singing, regular pub sessions and event singing retreats once a year!
We meet on Tuesdays from 7-9pm each week, with our terms following school terms.
Want to join us?
Whilst we do have a max size per voice part, we typically always have some spots open, particularly in the baritone sections! To join us, you have two options:
1. We host free open sessions at the start of each season with 20 free spots. (September, January and April). No audition needed, just come along! These sessions are hosted as meetup events under this group.
2. Otherwise, you can apply to join us mid season here: https://thepopupchoir.uk/joining-the-choir/ You'll need to do a light, entirely virtual audition but don't let that put you off! It's just to check where your voice would fit in our choir.
