Bog Hike at Waterloo Rec Area

Details
Join naturalist/ecologist Connor Wetzel-Brown and TQO board member Lu Evergreen in a walk around a local Michigan Bog at Waterloo Rec Area in Chelsea, Michigan. We will meet at the Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center and walk to the bog trail from there.
Bogs are incredible ecosystems that house many unique native Michigan plants that can handle low nutrient, highly acidic conditions. Connor will delve into the functions of bogs, how they are created and the resources that come from them. We may even encounter the AWESOME CARNIVOROUS plants that are major indicators of bog habitat. Lu will discuss the history of the park and the bog.
Please bring closed toed shoes/sandals (no flip flops), long sleeves, long pants, hats, and water. See you all there for some boggy adventures!
