Edible Oyster Mushroom Log Workshop
Details
Join the Queer Outdoors and our friends from Washtenaw Permaculture and the Cooperative at Dawn Farm as we learn to turn trees into gourmet mushrooms! Bring a friend for a fun and educational event and take home a mushroom log that will "fruit" with Oyster mushrooms 2-4x per year, for the next 2-4 years!
We will:
• Learn about the fungi kingdom and it's critical role in ecosystems
• Learn about how to turn common trees into a small mushroom farm
• Work together in teams to drill and plug logs with 2 different types of spawn
• Receive 1 mushroom log to take home (with after-care instructions)
• Hands-on experience filling and sealing mushroom logs with professional tools
• Ability to purchase additional mushroom logs for gifts, or for your own gardens - $25/ea
We always have a fun time doing the Mushroom Log Workshop, come join us and invite your friends! All are welcome!
