Our very first Reading Salon.

For our first meeting, we’re beginning with a book that has been haunting readers for more than two centuries: Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

A gothic classic, one of the earliest works of science fiction, and a story that raises questions that feel surprisingly modern.

Who is responsible for the creature Victor creates?
Is knowledge always worth pursuing?
What do we owe to the things — and people — we bring into the world?
And, ultimately: who is the real monster?

We’ll talk about the story itself, but also about Mary Shelley, the extraordinary circumstances in which Frankenstein was written, its cultural impact, and some of the philosophical questions hidden beneath the gothic horror.

Expect thoughtful conversation, different interpretations, a few controversial questions, and absolutely no need to agree with each other.

📖 Please read Frankenstein before the meeting. Any edition and any language is absolutely fine; the discussion itself will be in English.

📍 Location: Central Luxembourg City. The exact venue will be announced closer to the date.

🎁 And because this is the very first meeting of The Reading Salon, I’ll have a little welcome gift for everyone who joins us.

Come for the book. Stay for the conversation.
