The Women's shelf - Books, conversation & good company
Details
An intimate gathering for women who love books.
Join us for a relaxed afternoon of books, conversation and connection.
This is a gathering for women who love stories.
There’s no assigned reading, no homework and no pressure to have read a particular book. Simply come ready to share a fiction or non fiction book you loved and tell us a little about why it stayed with you.
Whether it was a character you couldn't stop thinking about, a story that moved you, or a book you've recommended again and again, we'd love to hear about it.
If you'd like, you're welcome to bring a physical copy of the book along. If you read digitally, you're equally welcome to bring it on your Kindle, tablet or phone — or simply come with the title and story in mind.
This will be a small gathering of women, designed to feel warm, intimate and conversational rather than like a traditional book club.

Things to note:
- If you're unable to attend, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance so that we can offer your spot to someone else. Unfortunately, repeated no-shows may need to be marked as such on Meetup.
- As this is a free gathering, there may occasionally be last-minute cancellations or no-shows. As a result, the final group size may be smaller than expected. We'll still be there and look forward to meeting everyone who attends.
- We'd appreciate it if you could arrive on time and purchase a drink and/or food from the cafe, as they are kindly reserving space for our group.
- Strictly no pitching of products and services during or after the meetup please. We're happy for any of the connections you make to continue naturally, without any hard selling.
- Event photos may be taken during the gathering for social media sharing. We’ll always be happy to tag you if you’d like
