Hudson River Lighthouse Series

I still have some launch details to work out but there is time and I'll update here and announce in the Notes.

The Stony Point Lighthouse is the oldest of the Hudson River Lighthouses dating from 1829 built to aid increased navigation due to the opening of the Erie Canal.

Launch from Havestraw Bay Park at 10am and paddle north off of Grassy Point crossing Stony Point Bay to an acceptable beach landing on the south side of Stony Point Park. A short hike takes us to the lighthouse.

Once selfies are taken and legs are stretched we will detour to go noodle about as far as we can go into into Cedar Bay Brook. I need to scout this as we might actually be able to use this as an inside sneak to get back to our Launch.

This is a shorter trip than the usual of about 5 miles total.

Paddle garb of the day will be weather dependent. 14'+ touring/sea or surfskis sort of trip for group pace parity, sprayskirt, self rescue kit, personal provisions, hydration and touring kayak with front/rear bulkheads/hatches mandatory.

This event is to benefit The operationdeepblue.org 2026 Expedition and minimum donation of $30 per person is requested payable to ;
