WELCOME TO THE RUSTY PIPES AUCKLAND - CASUAL COVERS SINGING GROUP - 40 PLUS

Sing it Loud. Or Sing it Softly. Sing it Clear. Or ..We can listen While We Hear. Smile Often.

Are you 40+ and love to sing — but haven't had a lesson in your life (or
ever)? This is your group.

(Younger members will be able to join in the future when we become established)

Auckland is one of the most beautifully diverse cities on the planet — and this group
is a reflection of that.

Whether you grew up singing along to ABBA in Amsterdam,
Brenda Fassie in Johannesburg, Teresa Teng in Taipei, or Fleetwood Mac in
Feilding — you are welcome here.

The Rusty Pipes Auckland is a casual, come-as-you-are singing circle for anyone
40+ who loves music but has absolutely no interest in performing professionally. No
training needed. No talent required.

Just a genuine love of song and a willingness to
have a laugh.

And like trying to choose between a meat pie and a cheese scone in a morning bakery or food on a menu at night in a cafe around loud people, so are the numerous choices of what songs you prefer, so we'll do the selection for you, and sometimes you can decide too, if you become a regular/customer/ Rusty Piper ...

Here's the deal:
• We sing covers — classic pop, rock, soul, country, and everything in between

• We use a shared Spotify playlist and a bluetooth speaker or two provides the band... so everyone can follow the melody and lyrics easily..or just hum and pick your moment to join in.

• No instruments, no band, no pressure — just voices and good energy

• We meet informally to have fun, connect, and make each other smile

• Low pressure always — this is a safe space for introverts, hybrids, and
everyone in between

This is NOT for musicians or trained singers — there are plenty of groups for
that.

This is for the rest of us.

The shower singers. The car karaoke veterans. The
ones who know every word but can't always find the note.
If music has ever made you feel something — come share that with us.

All nationalities, all backgrounds, all voices.

Membership is easy , just be sure you have a clear recognizable photo of your face, so we know how to communicate with you . This builds trust and respect for each other, particularly for carpooling and socialising.

Just leave your ego at the door. 😄

As public singing requires a licence to gather , we will gather at one another's homes if you're interested in hosting, share food sometimes .

On the listed event you're interested in , we'll encourage members to listen to the pre-event playlist on various digital platforms, beforehand so much like reading a good book...members can arrive prepared to sing together .

Afterwards we'll find a cafe or bring shared food and drinks occasionally to foster/interaction and community if you're available.

We will also set up a carpooling method to help anyone with a ride and offer other group support.
