False Foundations

Details
From our meeting "Critiquing Foundationalism" (Mar. 7 (https://www.meetup.com/The-San-Diego-Philosophers-Roundtable/events/106051042/)), we found foundationalism to be shipworthy and capable of explaining how one's knowledge can be justified and anchored to bedrock reality. We found it capable of providing a universal standard for maintaining objectivity and for netting certainty in human knowledge.
However, even if foundationalism is true, false foundations have been used to defend foundationalism. In those cases, is foundationalism really true? Proofs from false premises, even if perfectly valid, proves nothing.
Let's look at some false foundations that have been used to defend foundationalism. How do we know them to be false? We will look at the evidence and the arguments against them.
False-foundation foundationalism gave rise historically to two critical reactions. Is history repeating itself? Yes, ... but only until true-foundation foundationalism becomes better known. We'll see how history is looping if we have time left over.
