Serve Dinner at the Sanctuary Shelter - 5 Volunteers

Details
Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco's Sanctuary Shelter provides safe, 24-hour access to shelter for unhoused adults in San Francisco. The shelter is home to 205 homeless adults every night. Residents receive two meals daily. They can also access case management and mental health services through ECS’s San Francisco Shelter Treatment Access and Resources Team.
The food is prepared by staff cooks but we will help serve the meal. The dinner shift is from 6 - 8 p.m. beginning with a short orientation and continues with plating food and clean-up. There’s lots of room for interaction and connection with shelter residents as they receive their dinner meal. Some of the older clients and those with disabilities need extra assistance from volunteers to bring their meal directly to their table.
Dress Code: It is important to note that all volunteers must be 16 years or older and dress appropriately in close-toed shoes, shirts with sleeves (no tank tops) and pants that cover the full leg.
You may want to have a light snack beforehand. After the event we will head out and get some food and drinks of our own. We will surely be hungry by then!
