ROOM NOTES/FURNITURE/SUPPLIES
30 is the capacity of the room. So far in January & February 2026 we've had ~20 artists each session, give or take. We’ve always had a decent mix of regulars and new artist over the years. We’ve never had to turn anyone away, so far.
This top floor classroom is a bit larger than our previous venue but still can get quite cold. There ARE easels, some horses and irregular-sized boards. There are currently NO chairs in the room, and NO tables. Please DO bring your own paper + pens/pencils/paints (though no gamsol or stinky stuff, please!) Digital art is fine too...just make sure you cover any cameras with tape out of respect to the nude model.
COMMUNITY: During breaks, guests can choose to share work with each other if they wish. Community is a big reason to join us!
COST:
*$10-30 sliding scale cash/venmo/cashapp/paypal/zelle/Apple Pay (Single Model, most weeks)
*$20-60 sliding scale cash/venmo/cashapp/paypal/zelle/Apple Pay (Double Model on first Sundays in March, June, September & December)
Current students (with ID) at any school are half price ($5-15 sliding scale for one model or $10-30 sliding scale for two models). While we want to make sure we cover operation costs, we understand that times are tighter on some than others. If you can pay extra, you will help us keep this series Model tips are encouraged but not expected.

DIRECTIONS:
By car, I find that Google Maps recognizes “e stevens way ne & chelan ln” as a good locator.
From I-5, exit east onto NE 45th St. Travel east to Memorial Way NE. Turn left onto E Stevens Way NE. See "Parking" below for lot locations closest to the Art Building.
By train, the U District light rail station is located close to the university and several buses pass through the university to get closest to the gallery. There will be a short walk from each bus stop but there are paved sidewalks and crosswalks for pedestrians. Consult the King Country Metro’s trip planner tool for the best directions.
By bike, plan the safest route with the city of Seattle’s Interactive Bicycle Map. We have bike racks next to the north entrance and a bigger bike storage area a few steps away from the building.
PARKING:
All UW lots (EXCEPT WHERE OTHERWISE MARKED) are FREE on Sundays! Artists have had luck with most of these lots in past years (please note that the loading dock next to the building NO LONGER offers Sunday exceptions):
* N-3 SMALL LOT closest to the Art Building has 8 spots that are not handicap: https://map.uw.edu/?id=2099#!ce/99201?ct/86397,102328?m/1079506?s/
