Who says our best years are behind us? There's still so much to discover, experience, and enjoy—and it's even better when we have good friends to share it with!

The Second Bloom is a community for Chicago-area women 40+ who want to build genuine, lasting friendships, explore the city, try new things, share interesting conversations, laugh, and make the most of this chapter of life.

We know that making meaningful friendships as adults isn't always easy. Life changes, friendships evolve, and sometimes we find ourselves wishing we had more women in our lives to simply do life with.
Whether you're single or partnered, a mom or not, new to Chicago or a lifelong local, you're welcome here.

All you need is a little curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to connect.
We'll keep things varied—coffee and brunch, neighborhood walks, museums and cultural events, dinners, live music, creative classes, outdoor adventures, day trips, and sometimes simply getting together for good conversation.

But more than the activities, our hope is to create a genuine sense of community—where familiar faces become good friends, shared experiences turn into traditions, and friendships extend beyond our Meetup events.

This isn't a networking group or a place where you need to show up as some polished version of yourself. Just come as you are, bring your stories, and be open to meeting someone new.
