Welcome to The Sewing Club, a friendly sewing community in Athens for people who want to learn, create and meet others through sewing. ✂️🧵
Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some sewing experience, this is a space to learn new skills, work on creative projects and enjoy making things with your own hands.
We’ll explore sewing basics, simple projects, creative sewing and upcycling, with a focus on making sewing approachable and enjoyable.
Our activities will include beginner-friendly sewing workshops, creative sewing sessions and occasional outings for fabric and sewing supplies.
The group is English-speaking and open to both locals and internationals living in Athens.
No previous sewing experience is needed, just curiosity and a love of making things.

Have you always wanted to learn how to sew but didn't know where to start?
The Sewing Club is a friendly, small-group sewing course for complete beginners who want to learn the basics of using a sewing machine, make their first projects and enjoy the creative process along the way.⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: This is a 10-week course, not a one-off workshop. Registration is for the complete course.

A creative and welcoming space where we'll meet each week, learn together and work on our sewing projects.WHAT WILL WE LEARN?
We'll start from the very beginning and gradually build your confidence with a sewing machine.
During the course we'll cover:
• Getting to know your sewing machine
• Basic sewing tools and materials
• Choosing and understanding fabrics
• Threading the machine and winding the bobbin
• Basic stitches and sewing techniques
• Sewing straight lines, corners and curves
• Understanding seam allowances
• Working with different fabrics
• Reading and following simple sewing instructions
• Basic hand sewing
• Making practical and creative projects
We'll also explore creative sewing and upcycling, because sewing is not only about following patterns, it's about making something your own.WHO IS IT FOR?
This course is designed for complete beginners.
You don't need previous sewing experience and you don't need to know anything about sewing terminology.
You also don't need to own a sewing machine to join, sewing machines will be available during the sessions.
The group will be intentionally small so that everyone can receive personal guidance and plenty of hands-on practice.LANGUAGE
