Brian Frank
Founder, FTW Ventures

Brian Frank is a serial entrepreneur turned investor who serves as General Partner at Food for Thought Worldwide (FTW) Ventures, an early-stage venture fund investing in breakthrough hardware, software and biotech solutions for the massive, worldwide Food System.

Brian has spent the past 20 years defining product strategy in the leading Web, Mobile and Social technology companies. He's been a Product Manager at major corporations such as Palm, Adobe & Twitter and has led teams at innovative startups such as bCandid (acquired by Software.com), Posterous (acquired by Twitter) and Timeful (acquired by Google).

He has also invested in high-growth startups including Square Roots, Spoiler Alert, Nomiku, Proper Foods & Geltor. Brian also serves as an advisor to Teforia, Philz Coffee and Dishcraft Robotics and acts as a mentor for companies at places such as Lemnos Labs, indie.bio, HAX, Food-X and Highway1.

Brian is going to give us his insight on the future of the foodservice industry and the adversity early stage startups can expect to confront as a result of entering this challenging market.

Merril Gilbert
Hospitality and startup industry expert.

She leverages her 25 years of experience across the entire value chain to help food and beverage companies develop and launch innovative new products and grow categories. Merril’s clients are both start-up and established businesses in the restaurant, hotel, and specialty F and B manufacturing industries. She brings together all the pieces required to get a product on the shelf, a restaurant up and running, or business plan in front of investors.
