About us
The Sketch Society Open Studio Meetup is a casual weekly gathering for anyone who loves to draw. Whether you're just picking up a pencil for the first time or you've been sketching for years, we welcome all skill levels. We meet to draw together in a relaxed atmosphere where you can work on whatever interests you – portraits, landscapes, still life, abstract, or anything in between. There's no instruction, no pressure, just good company and the simple pleasure of putting pencil to paper.
The idea here is pretty straightforward: show up, bring your materials, and spend a couple hours sketching alongside other people who get it. We usually have a model or still life setup available, but you're free to work from reference photos, imagination, or whatever gets you excited. It's a great way to stay consistent with your practice, get inspired by watching others work, and build connections with fellow artists in a low-key setting.
If you've been meaning to draw more regularly but needed some accountability and community, or if you just enjoy the experience of creating alongside other people, come join us. No experience necessary, no membership fees, just bring yourself and your sketchbook.
