The STEM Sessions Meetup - Science of Fear & Why We Secretly Like It

Details
Let's kick-off the month of spookiness with a look at the science fear.
This discussion will touch on the evolutionary advantages of fear, what happens in our brain and body when we receive stimuli we perceive as fearful, and why modern humans now secretly love "safe" fear.
And since the weather is finally cooling, I'd also like to poll the group about future outings like nature and geology hikes, museum trips, etc.
For those new to this group, The STEM Sessions was created as a forum for people interested in and/or working in STEM to share their experiences, expertise, and learn from each other. I do my best to get the party started, but it's maintained by everyone's participation.
So join us. Have some food, have some beverages, and let's learn from each other.
