What we’re about

Similar to "lunch and learns" you may have at your office or campus, this meetup is a forum for all scientists, technologists, engineers, mathematicians, and those who enjoy STEM to teach and learn from each other. We will focus more on sharing knowledge and less on being skeptical (there are plenty of great meetups for that already).
Our meetings will follow a fairly simple format. We'll meet for an hour or so and listen to two presentations or discussions. Presentations will be given by fellow members and special guests. I would like to limit presentations to 30 minutes including questions and answers to keep the time moving and fresh. I will have a laptop, projector, and screen, so visual presentations are encouraged. Members should bring refreshments to share.
No topic is off the table as long as it pertains to STEM. You can share personal research or expertise. You can lead discussions of journal articles. This meetup will also be a wonderful opportunity to practice presentation and communication skills.

Remember, passive participation is always allowed, but active participation is appreciated and encouraged. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have presentation or discussion ideas!
