During this meeting we will be examining ROOTS. Just as physical roots tie trees to the ground, our own roots anchor and support us. In 1921, African American writer Alex Haley was born. Best known for writing Roots: The Saga of An American Family (1976), Haley traced the history of Kunte Kinte and his descendants. Taking a tip from Haley, our own family roots can give us a starting point for stories.

The Silicon Valley Storytellers is a Toastmasters club, where members focus on story creation and delivery. Our members bring prepared speeches, or engage in story development exercises. It’s fun, lively, and entertaining!
