About us
Want to hike with others but cannot meet early in the am or hike for 4-6 hours? Do you find yourself hanging in the back of the pack with the sweep on other meetup hikes? Then, this is the group for you!
We are slower walkers (25-30mins per mile) that like to enjoy the scenery and the company. It’s more than just exercise and getting through the route as fast as you can. Walking in nature clears your mind and allows you to reconnect with yourself and your surroundings.
Our hikes will usually be 3 to 5 miles in Contra Costa and Bay Area. Explore the trails with us! All ages welcome.

Bon Tempe - Lake Lagunitas Loop
Lake Lagunitas Parking Lot, Fairfax, CA, USThis is one of the prettiest and most fun hikes of the year. Join Randy in Fairfax for an easy (<400ft elevation gain) 6-mile scenic hike along partly wooded trails circling both Bon Tempe and Lake Lagunitas. These partly shaded trails should provide a nice hike for a hot day. We will stop for lunch at the Lake Lagunitas picnic area after circling Bon Tempe. If you're not up for the whole 6-mile hike, you can cut it back to under 5 miles by skipping the shorter hike around Lake Lagunitas after lunch.
Hikers are encouraged to coordinate carpools using the MeetUp app. Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome on this hike. Restrooms are located at the hike starting point. There is an $8 parking fee. DON'T FORGET to stop at the park entrance ticket machines to purchase your parking receipt. It's a long drive back to the machines if you forget, and rangers like to ticket cars not displaying a parking receipt.
